The Law Offices of Frank L. Branson, P.C.
are known nationwide for their encompassing use of advanced
trial techniques such as video (depositions, re-enactments,
day-in-the-life), computer animation, graphic art, and individualized
models.
An entire department is devoted to the creation
of state-of-the-art audio-visual presentations. The staff
includes one medical illustrator and two video specialists
working in-house with the latest technology in computer animation
and video production equipment, including DVD authoring, to
deliver the highest quality digital video.
Modern juries not only want to hear about
the accident or event, they want to feel, smell and see how
the accident or event occurred. Surveys on juror behavior
indicate that jurors' ability to remember information is greatly
increased when information is presented visually.
One recent study showed that jurors are
often overwhelmed by the amount of information that is presented
to them. As a result, they become bored, confused, and frustrated
when highly technical and complex issues are presented at
trial.
Demonstrative aids combat these problems
by introducing visual stimuli into an environment usually
dominated by sound. The typical juror is more likely to sit
up and pay attention when testimony is accompanied by an illustration
or diagram. This is true because the visual presentation makes
it easier to comprehend what the lawyers are saying.
Many judges suggest that lawyers should
make use of visual aids every step of the way. We work hard
to keep the case alive and interesting with charts, graphs,
photographs, video - or whatever medium works to best explain
the case to the jury.
