The Law Offices of Frank L. Branson’s Sharon McQuown Elected President of American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants

DALLAS – Sharon K. McQuown, R.N., M.S.N., L.N.C.C., a registered nurse and key member in Dallas’ The Law Offices of Frank L. Branson, has been elected President of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC). Ms. McQuown will serve as President-Elect before assuming the new role in 2011.

With headquarters in Chicago and almost 3,000 members nationwide, the AALNC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the professional enhancement and growth of registered nurses practicing in the specialty of legal nurse consulting, and advancing the legal nurse consulting profession.

“It is a great honor to represent and lead this diverse society of professionals,” says Ms. McQuown. “Working in a variety of settings, legal nurse consultants are responsible for analyzing and promoting clinical and administrative practices and upholding standards of nursing care in this country.”

Ms. McQuown was one of the founding members of Dallas chapter of the AALNC in 1992, and served in all board capacities, including as president. Elected to the AALNC national board in 2008, she has served as director-at-large for a 15-state region that included Texas and California and as secretary-treasurer of AALNC.

Ms. McQuown has worked for The Law Offices of Frank L. Branson for 19 years and previously worked for 12 years at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, where she managed a number of critical care units. She is one of two full-time legal nurse consultants at the firm, which also employs a full-time medical illustrator and a full staff of graphic artists and video production professionals.
